The season started on the 3rd May with the final of the Incrediball championship left over from last year. This was contested between Wales and Yorkshire in the unlikely setting of Welwyn Garden City. Wales were deserved winners by 66 runs after the Yorkshire bowling and fielding showed signs of early season nerves and lack of practice. Now that that is out of the way, both teams can concentrate on the forthcoming season which will see the hardball being used in both teams. The former Incrediball team, temporarily titled "The Tykes" are playing in the hardball league in place of Nottinghamshire who have had to withdraw from the championships this year. Apart from being a step up, it also means that the Terriers and the Tykes will be playing each other "Home and Away": sounds like an excuse for a party to me!
